The Story Behind Tobosoksini Games
We’re men with names. My name is Jamal—an indie game developer, officially badged as an Unreal Authorized Instructor (UAI) for 2025 and 2026, recognized by Epic Games as a proven Education & Training Partner for Unreal Engine. I am also a lifelong gamer from Amman, Jordan. By day, I work as a senior C++ developer and 3D generalist. By night, I dedicate myself to building Head North: The Inevitable, teaching Unreal Engine, and creating tools and plugins for developers.
Games have been a central part of my life since the ’90s, beginning with the Family Game and Panasonic 3DO, and later the PlayStation 1. In 1999, playing Metal Gear Solid ignited a passion for immersive storytelling that has stayed with me ever since. In 2020, inspired by a video from indie developer David Wehle, I made a commitment to learn Unreal Engine every single day. That dedication led to the founding of Tobosoksini Games, a one-man studio named after a nickname for my daughter.
Tobosoksini is more than just a studio; it represents my personal journey of turning passion into projects. Through it, I develop indie games with a strong focus on storytelling and immersion, teach Unreal Engine to aspiring developers worldwide, and build tools and plugins designed to empower creators. At the heart of Tobosoksini is a commitment to sharing knowledge with anyone who dreams of making games.
