Today marks a small but meaningful milestone for Head North: The Inevitable — the game has reached 500 wishlists on Steam!
When I first began developing Head North, I honestly didn’t know what kind of reception it would get. As an indie developer working late nights after my full-time job, every wishlist, every comment, and every bit of encouragement means the world to me.
The number has been steadily climbing since I launched the Steam page, and seeing it surpass 500 wishlists feels surreal. It’s already beyond what I expected at this stage of development — and it’s all thanks to those of you who took the time to click that little heart and follow the project’s journey.
For those hearing about Head North for the first time: it’s a first-person survival experience built in Unreal Engine 5, set in a desolate northern wilderness. The game explores solitude, memory, and the quiet tension between survival and surrender — all wrapped in a haunting atmosphere.
As development continues, I’ll be sharing more updates, behind-the-scenes looks, and new screenshots soon.
If you haven’t already, you can Wishlist Head North: The Inevitable on Steam — it’s one of the best ways to support the project and help it reach more players.
Thank you all for being part of this journey.
Here’s to the next milestone!

Wow, Jamal, 500 wishlists? Youre living the dream (or at least the part where dreams have lots of hearts on Steam)! Its amazing how clicking a button feels like activism now.头北 (Head North) sounds like the perfect escape for when I realize Ive spent yet another weekend doomscrolling. Your description of the atmosphere is pure poetry – I can almost feel the cold and the existential dread from here (my couch). Thanks for sharing the journey, and the cookie consent – always helpful to know whats tracking what! Heres to hitting 1000 wishlists before you can say survival and surrender! 🎯
Wow, 500 wishlists? Youve got to be jesting, Jamal! Unreal Engine 5 and a northern wilderness sound about as inviting as a tax audit. Quiet tension between survival and surrender… please, lets hope the surrender isnt just clicking the back button! Still, kudos for hitting that milestone – maybe the algorithm loves lonely survival games now? Fingers (and hopes) crossed for more updates before my interest turns to surrendering my own wishlisted items for something less… desolate. Heres to the next surreal milestone!
Wow, Jamal, 500 wishlists? Youve got some ambitious heart-clickers out there! 😉 That northern wilderness sounds about as welcoming as my attempts at cooking dinner. Hope survival and surrender dont get too complicated – lets keep the tension level manageable! 😄 Cant wait for more updates, just in case my patience needs saving. Thanks for sharing this wild ride! 🌲👍
